The Technology Park is a municipal facility located in the district of Nou Barris, managed by Barcelona Activa and aimed at technological and industrial businesses.
Its objective is to make a personalised and permanent contribution to the development of state-of-the-art industries through the Technology Business Centre, the Industrial Promotion Centre and the Auditorium. It also aims to become a benchmark centre in the promotion of scientific-technological vocations for the educational community of the district and the city as a whole.
Technology Business Centre
There are currently 50 businesses on the site, most of which are state-of-the-art engineering firms.
Noteworthy are the computer and industrial engineering firms, followed by the telecommunications, electronics, renewable energy and aerospace engineering companies.
In 2016, the general data on the centre's businesses was as follows:
- Aggregate turnover of EUR 36 million
- 485 jobs in the business centre
- Cumulative financing raised of EUR 18 million
- 15% with patents and 56% with exports
The Technology Park works with partners, entities and institutions of the services ecosystem supporting SMEs with the common objective of promoting innovation, knowledge of applied engineering, and technology and development in the industrial sector.
Industrial Promotion Centre
The first municipal space supporting industrial prototypes in the city of Barcelona. It is composed of a mechanics workshop equipped with tools and machinery for the production of prototypes, production modifications and short production runs; a digital workshop to enable prototype production digital technologies: and a co-working area for projects undertaken as a team.
Exhibition space for technology projects developed for businesses located in the Technology Business Centre, the partners of the Technology Park and the industrial ecosystem.
The Technological Park organises a program of activities open to all the city's businesses.
The auditorium has a surface area of 500m2 and capacity for 210 people. It has free Wi-Fi, simultaneous interpretation booths and access to a courtyard garden area where refreshments can be served.
