Barcelona is committed to an innovation-driven economy. Through Barcelona Activa, Barcelona City Council has been investing in funding for entrepreneurs since 2020 to diversify the local economy, create and retain talent, and help position the city as a global hub for investment and innovation.
Through Barcelona Activa, Barcelona City Council is launching this new municipal fund, endowed with 30 million euros to invest in venture capital funds, in order to boost the city's strategic sectors. This call includes a new sector, the care economy, and encourages the participation of impact funds.

Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, is investing 10 million euros in national or international private venture capital entities, with the aim of promoting the city's deep tech ecosystem within the framework of the Barcelona Green Deal economic agenda.
