CREA FEINA BARCELONA 2025

Subsidies to encourage recruitment

Barcelona City Council, in collaboration with Barcelona Activa, has launched the Crea Feina Barcelona 2025 grants with €2 million in funding and an estimated 235 jobs to be created.

The current scheme allows companies, organisations and self-employed workers to receive up to €15,000 for each new hire. The amounts vary depending on the company or organisation's sector of business and the category of worker hired:

  • First-time jobseekers, long-term unemployed, or individuals in a vulnerable situation (€6,000 - €8,000)
  • PhD qualification (€12,000 - €15,000)
  • Workers in social impact entities (€12,000 - €15,000)

The contracts must be full-time and permanent, and the person hired must be officially registered as a resident of the city of Barcelona.

YOUR COMPANY CAN apply for THE SUBSIDY IF...

  • It has at least one workplace in the Barcelona Metropolitan Area, where the person hired will perform their duties.
  • It has been in business for more than six months (in the case of hiring through the Inclusive line).
  • It is in good standing with the Barcelona City Council (Municipal Finance Institute), the Tax Agency, and Social Security.
  • It is not currently affected by any employment regulation processes, including temporary ones.
  • It signs and formalises a permanent, full-time employment contract. Contracts from 1 January 2025 that are valid at the time of application are eligible.

To encourage as many companies as possible to participate, each company may apply for a maximum of five grants in this call, with a maximum of two grants for the Social Economy and Impact line.

Please refer to the legal terms and conditions for all requirements.

HOW to APPLY FOR THE SUBSIDY?

To request the grant, it is necessary to access the programme’s management app and report the necessary data in order to generate the corresponding request instance.
  1. CREATE THE INITIAL REQUEST AND REGISTER IT: Log in to the Subsidy Application app, select the name of the company or register it (if it has not been registered previously) and upload the required initial documentation. Next, create the request, complete the section on Subsidies Received and register it on the municipal procedures website.
  2. SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION: Once the application has been registered, you will receive an email letting you know that you have 15 days to attach the rest of the documentation to the Subsidy Application app.
The technical department will review the documentation and approve, reject or request further documentation if necessary. The decision on the application will then be published in the BOPB and, if approved, the corresponding payment will be made to the bank account provided.

Documentation templates and the manual for accessing can be found in the documents and links section on this website.

After the period established for each line of aid (Inclusive, Research, Social Economy and Impact), you will need to submit supporting documentation for the subsidised employment relationship (payslips and social security contributions) to the application.

The deadline for submitting applications start 3rd June until 19 September 2025.

Once it has been generated, it must be registered at the Barcelona City Council's Virtual Procedures Office, within the Activa Autòno+ procedure.
