Cross-cutting aspects of European projects: gender equality and sustainability.
Self-employed persons, companies and other private organisations.
At present, almost all European project proposals must incorporate gender mainstreaming, i.e. they must take into account the fact that people's needs and experiences may vary according to their gender identity. However, very few companies are used to taking into account the gender aspect in their projects and initiatives.
Projects that incorporate the gender perspective project include measures and actions that address the different situations, roles, needs and interests of men and women with the aim of eliminating gender gaps and achieving gender equity. This will have an impact on the effectiveness of the projects.
Designing projects with a gender perspective makes it possible to adapt the available resources to people's needs in a more precise and balanced way and ensures that the project, whatever its subject matter, will have an impact on the pursuit of the goal of gender equality.
The European Commission and its agencies also do not consider projects that do not demonstrate a prior reflection on the environmental and climate impact of the implementation of the project.
