This report presents the economic and business ecosystem of the creative industries in Barcelona in 2021. It offers a definition and characterization of the creative industries in the city, proposes a geo-localized database, and collects international benchmarks of successful experiences in this field. 

Knowing that it is a dynamic sector, the aim is to determine the scope and current appearance of the creative industries, to generate proposals that favor its development and help make it the backbone of talent creation, wealth, and employment policies. 

The elaboration process has included the definition and characterization of the sector, based on statistical and documentary sources, as well as interviews with relevant agents; and carrying out a benchmarking of reference regions and a strategic segmentation and analysis, identifying the main strategic challenges of the different sectors. Finally, proposals for public policy action have been included. This report is one of the tools provided for in the Creative Industries Governance Measure 2019.
