REVESSTIM EL TÈXTIL: highlights (2019-2021)

Below you can take a look at highlighted resources since 2019 and insights into  activities that have been carried out since the start of the program.

Working with training centers:

In 2020 a line of work was started in training centres to strengthen, support, and accompany the centres in the introduction of Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE), ESG sustainability in textiles, and social entrepreneurship. Divided into three courses of action, these actions were developed and celebrated:

  • 4 group gatherings of the textile and fashion school group. Spaces where textile and fashion training centres share their gaze and needs; with the insights collected, we designed the next actions and formations while continuing to explore responses and solutions to strengthen ESG sustainability in and with the centres related to other agents of the textile ecosystem.
  • 2 editions of training for teachers of textile and fashion centers. As an introduction to sustainability, ESG, SSE, and entrepreneurship, 32 teachers have already participated.
  • 2 editions of the Program for Collective Social Entrepreneurship on sustainable textile ESG among students of the centers. A program in which a group of 12 pupils from different training centres simulate a business and generate an ESG sustainable, collective, and social entrepreneurial textile project, from the idea to market entry. They experienced collective work and acquire the tools for their own current and future entrepreneurship projects. It also included talks of initiatives concerning sustainable textiles and visits to related and interesting areas.

Additional training activities

In addition to ordinary training programs, the program included the following resources:

  • Communication and marketing seminars:
In order to strengthen two key areas aroused from the 2nd Conference of the RevESStim el Tèxtil in 2021, two workshops were organised on communication and marketing. They were put forward for initiatives with consolidation needs in the field of SSE textiles and ESG sustainability, and which had requested they would like to deepen and improve these business areas. They were able to gain first-hand knowledge from the experiences and good practices of other relevant initiatives in the same context.
  • Mapping of textile resources and facilities:
A mapping was made with educational resources offered and facilities in the territory.

During the state of alarm, Barcelona Activa produced 305,000 surgical masks for municipal personnel, of which 105,000 were produced by 421 sewing points made up of people, organisations, and workshops coordinated by the RevESStim el Tèxtil program. The Col·laboratori

The Col·laboratori  is a training and technical articulation area for the exchange of experiences detected or present in the textile sector with SSE criteria. The 3rd edition of the program aimed at organisations dedicated to the textile sector that sought to move towards economic viability by influencing the areas that needed the most reinforcement, such as marketing and marketing strategies, financial management systems, or the incorporation of new trends concerning the circular economy and sustainability in the textile sector.
