Grants of up to € 4,000 for the first year’s expenses

The Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, offers financial aid to self-employed individuals with the aim of alleviating the burden of expenses that the self-employed must assume during their first year of activity. This initiative aims to promote entrepreneurship in the city of Barcelona and helps new companies to consolidate in the market more easily.

The amount of the grant will be calculated based on the justified expenses at the time of application and can reach a maximum of €4,000.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR THESE SUBSIDIES?

All the people registered as residing in the city of Barcelona who have started a new economic activity as an entrepreneur:

Self-employed workers (individual entrepreneurs).
New members of worker cooperatives.

You must fulfil the following requirements:

Have started a new economic activity since September 6th, 2022.
Registered for tax purposes in the city of Barcelona as an individual entrepreneur..
Registration in the city of Barcelona for at least three months prior to fiscal registration
Not be registered as self-employed for the same activity in the year prior to the date of registration.
Be up to date with tax obligations.

HOW CAN YOU APPLY FOR THE SUBSIDY?

Access the Barcelona Activa Subsidy application form and fill in the application form in order to generate the corresponding application form.

APPLY FOR THE GRANT

To request the grant, it is necessary to access the programme’s management app and report the necessary data in order to generate the corresponding request instance.

Attach the application form, with digital certificate, to the Barcelona City Council Virtual Procedures Office, within the "Activa Autóno+ 2024" procedure.

IMPORTANT: This register will be the one that will set the order in the subsidy request.

Generate the instance

Once the application form has been registered on the municipal procedures portal, you will receive an e-mail notifying you of the result of the application.

Once it has been generated, it must be registered at the Barcelona City Council's Virtual Procedures Office, within the Activa Autòno+ procedure.

If the application is approved, you will find a link in the same e-mail that will allow you to access the grant application form to add the necessary documentation.

The documentation must be provided in PDF format and within a maximum period of 15 days from the date of the notification.
