Annual conference REVESSTIM EL TÈXTIL
The Annual Conference of RevESStim el Tèxtil arise in 2020 in order to improve the articulation of the ESG (environmental, social, and good governance) sustainable textile sector defined as an important sector within the Social and Solidarity Economy Strategy in Barcelona 2030.
Therefore, the Socioeconomic Innovation directorate of Barcelona Activa organizes an annual meeting with two main objectives: to facilitate the networking between iniciatives of the sector and to offer a space to the organizations and projects of the sector to reflect collectively on the current situation and the challenges, making themselves known and sharing experiences that will enable the improvement of the sustainable textile sector.

8th of June: Knitting our sustainability
The fourth edition of the Annual RevESStim el Tèxtil Conference was designed to gather all iniciatives that have participated in the program and to encourage them to reflect and assess the action in the program since its beginning. It incorporated, as well, a dialogue to discuss the sustainability of initiatives and the sector. As in other editions, the Conference was organized in collaboration with the Association Moda Sostenible Barcelona.
More specificic, the dialogue included 3 initiatives that are a referent within the design and production of fashion, from an ESG sustainability perspective and for the local economy and intercooperation:
- Miriam Ponsa, founder and creative director at the Miriam Ponsa brand
- Paola Cirelly, founder of Fashion Design Thinking and fashion designer specialist in branding and sustainability.
- Santi Mallorquí, CEO of Organic Cotton Colours, organic cotton producers in cooperation with cooperatives in Brazil.
Following the conversation with experts, we pinpointed the crucial points for the sector and collectively thought about practical and achievable solutions to make the initiatives operating in the ESG sustainable textile of Barcelona real and viable alternatives.
Previous Conferences
The first conference, held in November 2020, was developed as a continuation of the RevESStim el Textil activities, and as a sharing moment for the participating initiatives of that year. Noting the impact of Covid-19 on the sector, the second conference, held in March 2021, aimed to identify the opportunities, challenges, and common needs of the socio-economic initiatives of the collectively sustainable textile sector.
The third edition of the RevESStim el Tèxtil Annual Conference focused on digitalization and circularity of the textile waste from a sustainability perspective, with the aim of generating viable proposals, and to be a meeting place to network between the organisations of the sustainable textile sector in Barcelona.
